Pressure Washing

A good pressure washing will remove dirt and mildew from exterior surfaces.

Surface Preparation

Before any paint goes on, the surface is prepared. We scrape and clean loose paint and spot prime all exposed surfaces. Any cracks found will be filled. Metal surfaces will be rust proofed where appropriate. Carpentry repairs are also provided. Interior preparation can includes sheet-rock repair, if necessary, and adding ceiling textures.

Paint Selection

Flawless Painting thinks it's important to use zero VOC paints for health and environmental reasons. See our information on zero VOC paints. We use Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams quality brand paints for durable long lasting coverage.

Painting

We recommend that customers get two coats of the finish color. Applying two coats will provide better durability and coverage. This is true for any paint project. Exterior surfaces should be primed in a top quality breathable alkyd (oil) base primer when warranted, then finished with top quality finish coats. The same applies to wood surfaces, whether indoor or out. For pre-painted interior surfaces it is acceptable to apply two coats of the new finish color. Although many of of the new interior paints are made to act as a primer and finish paint, it may be necessary to apply a top quality primer first to hide surface imperfections when using a satin or high gloss finish top coat.

Staining

Flawless Painting uses top quality stains. One coat of stain is usually sufficient for all interior or exterior surfaces except in extreme cases.

Faux Finishes

A variety of specialty finishes including color washing, leathering, ragging, sponging, and venetian plaster.
